Invoice, get paid, and close the books on a ledger nobody can edit.
Invoices with the sales tax rate you set, payment links through your own Stripe account, bank statements matched by your own rules, and a double-entry ledger that can only be added to. Built today for SK Salon, SK Works and SK Fleet customers. Hosted in India.
Most small-business books are right until somebody checks.
The invoice changed after it was sent.
Same number, new amount, no reason and no trail. The customer has one version, the books have another, and the auditor finds both.
The bank and the books disagree on the 28th.
Every month-end starts with a statement printout and a highlighter. Three days later, one line still doesn't match.
Nobody knows who has owed what, since when.
Without ages on the money, the friendly customer gets chased and the 90-day one gets another month.
SK Billing puts every invoice, payment and bank line on one ledger that can only be added to.
Issue. Collect. Match. Close.
An invoice posts its own journal the moment it is issued. A payment by link or at the counter settles it and posts again. The bank statement is matched to both. The reports are simply the ledger, read back.
Tax worked out from where you sell and who you sell to, stamped on the document, a gapless number, and a PDF with the tax QR.
A link through your own gateway account, or a payment recorded at the counter. Advances are held and allocated with a click.
Import the statement as CSV or Excel. Your rules match descriptions, references and amounts to invoices and bills.
P&L, balance sheet and trial balance from the same journals, and a period you can lock when the month is done.
No borrowed logos. Rules you can test on the demo.
SK Billing 6.0 shipped in October 2026. These are properties of the system, not promises in a brochure; ask us to show any of them on the call.
The database itself rejects any change or delete on a posted journal. A mistake is corrected by a dated reversal with a reason code, pointing at what it reverses.
Each journal carries a SHA-256 hash of the one before it and its own lines. Change a row behind the system's back and the chain breaks where you did it.
Series numbers are gapless. A voided invoice keeps its number with the reason, so the sequence your auditor sees has no holes.
Every amount and tax line is computed in exact decimal arithmetic, never floating point. Totals add up the same way on the invoice, the journal and the report.
From the estimate to the closed month.
A document can change only as much as is honest.
Estimates, invoices, credit and debit notes and delivery challans share one numbering rule and one life: a draft you edit freely, an issued document that changes only by reversing and reposting under a new revision, and a locked one, once the month is closed or a payment is allocated, that is corrected only by a credit or debit note. An estimate becomes the invoice in one click.
- PDF sent by email; WhatsApp is coming soon in the USA
- Currency, tax treatment and branch stamped when the document is made, never re-derived
- Void keeps the number and asks for the reason
Sales tax at the rate you set, on every invoice.
Today you enter your state and local rate on the invoice. SK Billing applies it to the lines, prints it on the PDF and posts it to sales tax payable, so the liability is in the books before you file. Exempt and resale customers take zero. Automatic sales tax by address is coming soon; until it ships, SK Billing is sold in the USA to SK Salon, SK Works and SK Fleet customers.
- Your rate on the invoice, posted to sales tax payable
- Zero for exempt and resale customers
- Automatic sales tax by address is coming soon
Pick the customer. Watch the invoice change.
An invoice for USD 1,000 from a studio in New York. Choose who it is for.
Paid by link, through your own gateway, with nothing taken by us.
Connect your own Stripe account once. Every invoice can carry a payment link; when the customer pays, the invoice is settled, the journal is posted and the receipt goes out. Payments in cash or card at the counter are recorded the same way. A deposit taken before the work is held as an advance and allocated to one or more invoices with a click.
- Softknack takes no cut of payments; you pay only your gateway's own fee
- Partial payments, overpayments and refunds kept straight on the customer's balance
- Receipts by email; WhatsApp is coming soon in the USA
Who owes what, and for how long, without a spreadsheet.
Every customer and vendor has a live statement: opening balance, each invoice, payment and credit note, and the running balance after each. The aging view sorts what is owed into 0–30, 31–60, 61–90 and over 90 days, so the oldest money is chased first and the friendly customer who paid yesterday is left alone.
- Statements as PDF, sent by email from the customer's record
- Aging for receivables and payables, by customer, vendor or branch
- Balances shown on the customer's record in SK CRM
What you owe, to whom, and when it falls due.
Raise a purchase order to a vendor, record their bill when it arrives, and pay it in full or in parts. Bills post to payables and to the right expense or asset account, with the tax you can claim on its own line. Payables age the same way receivables do, so nothing is paid late by accident or early by habit.
- Purchase order to bill to payment, each with its own number
- Tax on each bill kept on its own line
- Manual journals and sub-accounts in the chart of accounts
Month-end matching in minutes, by your own rules.
Upload the statement as CSV or Excel; the columns are mapped for you, from date and description to withdrawal, deposit and reference. Rules you set, in the order you set them, match lines by words in the description, references and amounts to open invoices and bills. A line no rule catches is matched by hand or posted straight to an expense, and the book balance and the bank balance end the month agreeing.
- Up to 100 rules, run in priority order
- Each bank account tied to its own ledger account
- Statements come in as a file you import, CSV or Excel
Mistakes are reversed in the open, never rubbed out.
Issuing an invoice debits receivables and credits sales and the tax you owe. A payment debits the bank and credits receivables. An advance sits in its own liability until it is allocated. Every one of those journals is append-only: the database refuses edits and deletes, corrections are dated reversals with a reason code, and each entry is chained to the one before by its hash, so a change made outside the system shows up where it was made.
- Five-root chart of accounts: assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, expenses
- Hash check on the journal list: verified, or the first broken link
- Reversals point at what they reverse, with who, when and why
The reports are the ledger, read back. The month can be shut.
Profit and loss, balance sheet and trial balance on every plan, for any date range, straight from the journals: no export, no re-keying, no waiting for month-end. On Scale, each month closes with a checklist and is then locked, so nothing is posted into a period your accountant has already signed.
- P&L, balance sheet and trial balance on every plan
- Aging for receivables and payables alongside
- Closing checklist and period lock on Scale
Built today for the businesses already on the suite.
In the USA, SK Billing is sold to SK Salon, SK Works and SK Fleet customers until automatic sales tax ships.
With SK Salon: checkout invoices on the same ledger, and tips split to stylists by your rules.
With SK Works: deposits, stage bills and the vendor bills behind each job.
With SK Fleet: trip invoices and corporate statements, matched to the bank.
One organisation, a branch per location, each with its own numbering and reports.
Standalone accounting opens when automatic sales tax and live bank feeds ship.
What is not built yet, said plainly.
Nothing on this list is sold as included today. We will tell you before any of it ships and before anything about it is priced.
Sales tax worked out by address, bank lines arriving on their own, and invoices on WhatsApp in the USA.
Invoices that raise themselves on a schedule.
Your customers see their invoices, statements and pay, signed in.
Payment reminders sent on their own, by age of the invoice.
A seat for your outside accountant that does not count as a user.
Questions about your numbers, reminder drafts, bill scanning and bank-match suggestions, priced by use when they return.
Hosted in India. Your books, kept the way the law keeps them.
Your organisation's boundary is enforced by the database on every query, set from the verified login. Financial records are kept for statutory retention, eight years and more, even after a customer leaves; a person's contact details can be erased under US consumer privacy law while the tax records that name them stay as the law requires.
- Row-level isolation: one organisation can never read another's books
- Idempotent writes: a double-click or a retried request never creates a second invoice or payment
- Every change logged: who issued, revised, voided, allocated or reversed, and why
- Statutory records locked: journals and tax records outlive contact erasure
The ledger the other products post to.
SK Salon checkouts, SK Works milestones and SK Fleet trips are invoiced through it. SK CRM shows each customer's balance and lifetime value from it. SK Drive keeps its PDFs. Your gateway settles its invoices.
Invoices that SK Salon, SK Works and SK Fleet create are covered by those products' own plans and never count toward your SK Billing invoice limit.
One price per organisation. Not per invoice line.
Starter covers selling and getting paid. Growth adds buying, banking, multi-currency. Scale adds the controls a multi-branch finance team needs. Before sales tax; 15 days free to start.
A month each, per organisation. Annual is pay 10 months, use 12. Add users, branches or invoice packs without moving up; past a point the next tier is cheaper.
